The Excitement Around the Fantastic Four in Fortnite

The Fantastic Four, a beloved superhero team from Marvel Comics, has been around since 1961. Over the decades, the group has appeared in numerous movies, each featuring different actors portraying the iconic characters. This time, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach have taken on the roles of Mr. Fantastic, The Human Torch, Susan Storm, and The Thing respectively in Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is set to hit theaters on July 24, 2025.

With the movie’s release date approaching, the popular battle royale game Fortnite has announced an exclusive skin bundle inspired by the new film. These skins will be released simultaneously and are designed to closely resemble the actors’ portrayals of their respective characters.

This isn’t the first time that Fortnite has used actor-based designs for its skins. For instance, the Spider-Man skin and the Dune series skins were modeled after the actors who played those roles. Recently, the Superman skin available in the battle pass was based on David Corenswet, who stars as the Man of Steel in the upcoming movie.

Details About the Fantastic Four Skins

The Fortnite skin bundle will feature four characters: Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. However, it's still unclear whether these skins will be sold as a bundle or individually. In the past, most character skins have been offered in bundles, but there’s speculation that this time, players might be able to choose individual skins.

Additionally, it’s possible that some items like Back Bling, Emotes, and Pickaxes may only be included in the bundle, while the skins themselves could be purchased separately. The release date for the skins in the Fortnite Item Shop is expected to be July 25, just one day after the movie’s premiere. This information comes from a well-known leaker named Hypex, who shared the details on X (formerly Twitter).

Fans of both Fortnite and Marvel have already expressed excitement about the new skins. Many users on X praised the rendered images, with some saying they look almost identical to how the actors appear in the movie. One user even wrote, “They don't look good.... They look AMAZING.” Another commented, “Looking clean. They cooked with no cel shading, actors' faces, and the MCU suits! W, Fortnite.”

Other Platforms Also Releasing Fantastic Four Skins

Fortnite isn’t the only platform incorporating the Fantastic Four theme. Marvel Rivals is also releasing skins on the same day, though they are more in line with the comic book versions rather than the actors’ appearances.

Impact on Esports and Gameplay

As with other major movie releases, the introduction of these skins is expected to influence gameplay, especially among competitive players. Characters like Susan Storm are likely to be popular choices among fans. Additionally, because there are four new skins, it’s possible that players may encounter multiple members of the Fantastic Four in a single match.

However, certain skins may be less commonly used in competitive play. For example, The Thing’s larger size and The Human Torch’s fiery appearance could make them stand out more, potentially affecting their usage in high-stakes matches. Despite this, the skins themselves won’t have any different mechanics or hitbox compared to other characters in the game.

Fortnite is also offering two rewards for players participating in the Fantastic Four Cup, which is expected to start on July 23. To earn these rewards, players must survive specific durations in the tournament:

  • Spray: Survive 60 minutes in the Cup
  • Emote: Survive 120 minutes in the Cup

These incentives are sure to encourage more players to join the event and showcase their new skins.
