THE second Wirral Theatre Festival is set to take place later this month.
Taking place at the Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead on Friday, August 15 and Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on Saturday, August 16, its aim is to showcase, promote and celebrate the Wirral - which has its own diverse pool of experience and upcoming talent.
The afternoon productions at Williamson Art Gallery on August 15 - being staged from 1-3pm - are family shows called Trapped and Spooky Tales.
In Trapped , three children to get locked in the museum. When the darkness takes hold, they have to tell stories to keep themselves from getting scared.

The evening show, running from 6-10pm features productions called Second Chance , Date Night, Octavia and Love & revolt.
The afternoon productions in the Floral Pavilion Blue Lounge day two (Saturday August 16) - being staged from 1-3pm - are family shows We'll Meet Again and The Godly Greeks.
We'll Meet Again is described by the producers as a 'heartfelt World War II show about evacuation and the life of people left at home during the war. A note on the show's flyer read 'this is a great way to educate young people, whilst enjoying a fun story, with plenty of audience interaction'.

It tells the story of Joe, a 'mischievous boy who falls asleep and wakes up trapped in ancient Greece. The aim is for the audience to help him battle his way back to his bedroom before sunrise.
The evening show, running from 6-10pm features productions called Breaking Free , Special Tea, The Execution Of Private Slovik and Prior Ties.
The event is co-produced by the Floral Pavilion. ABOUT US The Wirral Theatre Company was formed in August 2023 by Robbie Southworth and Craig Ash Mckenna.
Robbie heads Past Productions Education LTD delivering workshops in schools across the UK and throughout Europe. Craig’s Times of 13 Company produces short films and theatre shows.
Robert told the Globe: "After a successful first year, we decided for 2025 to explore different spaces for performances.
"The Wirral has so much heritage and we're really trying to capitalise on that with our stories and the people involved in the festival in general".
Pauline Campbell from the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton said: "I am delighted that we are hosting the Wirral Theatre Festival here at the Floral Pavilion.
"The Wirral is full of interesting stories and storytellers and we are truly honoured to be spotlighting this. “
